Dear Sir/Madam
I am hearing the Honorable Prime Minister boasting that ” the best is yet to come”, in relation to the renewed OFAC license, the oversubscription of the billion dollar bond, which has to be repaid from onerous taxes on the public and the high level of interest in the “Revitalisation Plan, also known as UNC pie in the sky.

She went on to brag about the UNC administration’s (her Government’s) success in getting Trinidad and Tobago off the UN Tax Non Compliant List. This is most inaccurate since the process to get us off the listing began with things like FATCA many years ago under the PNM. So she must be challenged to present a factual chronology on this false assertion.
I surely hope supporters don’t pick up this nonsensical and baseless narrative when they are defending the numerous failures of the 10 month old administration. In so doing, the Chaguanas Chamber should hold its congratulations for some other time, maybe when credit cards used by small businesses are restored from the painfully low levels they are the moment.
So while we wait for manna from heaven, I would like to highlight that the murder rate is well in keeping with the days of the PNM, so clearly Alexander isn’t working out.
The cost of living is killing people and small business, a la natural gas increases and their pet peeve, home invasions are continuing as normal with the aged being beaten to death and deadly roadside robberiess.

Minister of Transport Eli Zakour
There are taxes, fines, duties and charges everywhere you turn and businesses are folding up, leaving workers stranded. Roads are bad to worse. It also appears that Eli Zakour has some egg on his face, as the increase in fines seems to have little impact, given the number of accidents and road deaths.
So. Its back to just making money. Further, his “grace period” amendments are disgracefully impractical and remain as wicked as the fixed penalty notices, they were derived from. In fact, they have been exacerbated as you can now get a ticket stuck to your vehicle while you are no where close to it…. so nothing “best” about that sheer wickedness.

Minister in the Ministry of Housing Phillip Alexander
Phillip Alexander also has some embarassment, as he can no longer broadcast his podcast from his phone in the car, while driving, thanks to Eli. In fact, citizens outsmarted the tax collectors on Ash Wednesday and did not go to Maracas, as the majority of citizens left the country, stayed at home or just plainly ignored the skin and bone parades.
So I am left to wonder: what really has the UNC Government done for the citizens that they have anything to look forward to? As Basdeo Panday used to say: what is the point of all this development, if you are dead?” Come better than that.

St James
