West Indies still stranded in India

The West Indies T20 team members are enjoying an extra stay in India as a result of the crisis currently in Iran.

The members of the team and officials should have been back home since February 28, but the war which broke out among the United States, Israel, and Iran, made it impossible for the team to leave India.

Cricket West Indies released a statement on Thursday clarifying the West Indies Men’s team’s departure situation from India.

Cricket West Indies confirmed that a charter flight is being arranged by the ICC to bring the West Indies Senior Men’s Team home from India, with departure expected within 24 hours (Friday).

The delay follows airspace restrictions in the Gulf region due to the ongoing security situation. CWI says the team is safe and their return remains the top priority. Among the team members is Trinidadian Akeal Hosein.

The West Indies were knocked out by India on February 27.
