A Gender-Based Violence Manager has been shot dead.
Kwasi Dion Gill, 41, of Beetham Gardens, who was reported missing after leaving home Friday night, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds along Lady Young Road, Morvant.
Police believe Gill was murdered sometime between Friday night and early on Saturday morning.
Around 3:04 p.m. on Saturday, Belmont Police received a report that a body had been seen lying on the roadway at Textile Hill, Lady Young Road, Belmont.
Responding officers found the body of a man of African descent lying on the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds. He was barefoot and was dressed in a white-and-green floral-patterned jersey and grey plaid shorts.
Crime scene officers recovered five spent nine mm shells and three projectiles.
The body was viewed by the District Medical Officer who pronounced the man dead and ordered its removal to the Forensic Science Centre pending a post-mortem examination.
Gill had been reported missing after leaving his Beetham Gardens home at approximately 10 p.m. on Friday in his white Toyota Aqua, registration PDU 163.
He was expected to attend an event but never arrived, and attempts to contact him by telephone went unanswered.
His disappearance sparked an appeal for information from his family.
Gill was employed as a Gender-Based Violence Case Manager with the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago (FPA).
Homicide Bureau officers confirmed that robbery was the motive as his car is missing. No arrests have been made.
