HOME INVASION SUSPECT GRANTED BAIL

A 29-year-old Penal man charged with one count of Home Invasion, was granted bail in the sum of $75,000 when he appeared before the Siparia Masters’ Court on Monday.

The accused, Peter Marshall, of Penal Rock Road, was not called upon to plead to the charge.

As part of his bail conditions, he is required to reside at his current address, remain at least 50 feet away from the virtual complainant, and report to the Penal Police Station three days a week. The matter was adjourned to November 30.

The charge stemmed from an incident which occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6 at a residence along Penal Rock Road, Penal.

The virtual complainant reported that she had secured her home and retired to bed when she was awakened by a noise.

Upon opening her eyes, she observed a man whom she recognised standing over her in her bedroom, armed with a cutlass.

The woman raised an alarm, causing the suspect to flee through a back door on the northern side of the premises.
