Rally Round the Prime Minister?

Gimme a break!

Dear Sir/Madam

It is so childish and immature to see individual members of Parliament issuing statements in their own name endorsing the Prime Minister’s remarks at the Caricom Summit in St. Kitts.  It seems like another  “Emperor Has No Clothes” moment.

It seems as though they do not have enough constituency and/or Ministry business to keep them busy and I really wonder if they are doing this on their own volition.

MPs who are currently doing nothing in their constituency, like Chaguanas West, are posting gracious approvals and ” I stand by, PM” at what is supposed to be just an address.

If and where the content is objectionable, then it will be dealt with there and not on a constituency level, here.   She has gone there to talk Caricom shop… What will be the outcome? – Cuba nonsense? Another silly ban on automatic weapons? A booklet on Nevis autonomy?  Maybe they will move closer to banning free speech..

I advise them that the truth speaks for itself: Caricom has never stood up for Guyana, not since the days of Burnham, so their  naked fig leaf of indifference in the Venezuela aggression over only Guyana  space is nothing new and they all played possum with the US  precense in Caribbean waters.

So they stand slighted  and shunned   by the US requesting only Trinidad and Tobago  and Guyana  to meet with Secretary Rubio, for a personal invite to a Trump Summit – eat your hearts out.. wicked stepbrothers and sisters.

So its  really absurd to watch them tripping over themselves: for God’s sake, one “performer”, suggests that we should line the highway with flags to welcome here.  Well, good sir, this is beyond stupid, as you are setting up the people for  tickets for parking, for everything under the sun while the entourage wizzes by, full of burly police.

So this man must have lost his mind.  Why can’t  they show how many roads were fixed, how many jobs were created, how many home invasions and robberies were prevented: sickening  ad nauseam.

And what of those who did not issue statements? Is it that they get a bad performance appraisal on her return?

Once again they have taken a page from the PNM’s Women’s League to issue vacuous statements that mean nothing to the miserable lives they have made for citizens.

 Linda Capildeo,

St James
