Nakhid robbed of cash and personal belongings in Cascade

Crime has now hit a member of the Government.

The victim is Senator David Nakhid, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.


The UNC Senator lost cash and belongings in Cascade on Monday afternoon.
Nakhid parked  his vehicle at the car park of Simple Choice Mart in Cascade around 4:15 p.m. on Monday. According to reports, he secured his black Mercedes-Benz before entering the establishment.


The senator returned to his car two minutes later, only to discover the rear right-side glass of his vehicle had been smashed.


A check of the vehicle revealed that a black Armani backpack had been stolen. Inside were $10,000 in cash, a Christian Dior perfume valued at $2,600, a Lacoste fragrance worth $800, along with several local and foreign identification cards, bank cards, and keys to his home.
Police responded to the scene.

Investigators processed the vehicle and were able to recover workable fingerprints, which are expected to assist in identifying the suspect or suspects. No arrests have been made.
