My dear editor, in my opinion Tobago is still not fully prepared for the expectations of tourists from Europe and North America.
Beautiful beaches and scenery alone are not enough. Visitors also look for professionalism, courtesy, efficiency, safety, cleanliness, and consistent service. Sadly, the present attitude in some areas discourages growth and repeat visits.
Tourism is built on hospitality, respect, and discipline. Until there is a serious change in mindset, standards, and national pride, Tobago may continue struggling to compete with other destinations in the Caribbean.
