The first triple-murder for 2026 occurred early Friday morning in Laventille.
The killings took the murder toll to 58 for the year.
Three men were gunned down in the early hours of Friday morning in what police are treating them as reprisal killings.
The victims were identified as Keon Alexander, Jesse Nelson and Dwayne Alexander.
Reports indicate that around 1 am on February 27, three heavily armed gunmen opened fire at a location along 42nd Street off Laventille Road, Laventille.
All three men were shot and killed during the attack.

Police responded immediately and found the dead men. No one has been arrested. The DMO ordered the removal of the bodies for post-mortems.
A police official told Sunshine Today the latest killings, while sad, were not unexpected. Following recent fatal shootings in and around Port-of-Spain, residents told police they expected reprisal killings.
In one case where a well-known man was killed in Port-of-Spain, police interviewed residents and heard that his colleagues were already planning revenge. Investigators are now looking into that matter following the killings on Friday morning.
In recent weeks, there have been a number of gang killings across the country. Double murders have occurred in Diego Martin, San Juan, St James, Couva, and El Dorado so far in 2026.
