Are We All Winning?

Government seems determined to digitise everything , land records, payments and government services. Digitisation has its place, but are we solving the real problems facing Trinidad and Tobago?

After 63 years of Independence, Frederick Street, South Quay and the Brian Lara Promenade still look much the same. Port of Spain remains dirty, street dwellers are still a major problem, and our tourism product needs serious attention.

We hear about millions being spent on digital initiatives, while the basic appearance and infrastructure of our capital remain neglected.

Perhaps the Government should spend less time on distractions and more time fixing the country people actually live in.

The question is simple: Is everyone winning?
