With all due respect, evidence is often available, but valid accusations are stopped by the police because they are corrupt themselves and take bribes from the baddies to drop their cases.
You have any idea how frustrated David West at the PCA is?
The police are reluctant to incriminate one another and all he can do is refer the evidence he is able to gather – usually from the reticent police themselves – to the DPP (another problem) and suggest that action be taken. If the DDP does not do so, then nothing happens and there is nothing he nor his office, can do about it.

Take for example, the Brent Thomas Affair that has died the usual death. Although the file went missing from National Security initially, it was recreated.
Macdonald Jacob, the Commissioner of Police at the time, signed six warrants for Thomas’ arrest that were issued by the DPP, the Minister of National Security at the time, Fitzgerald Hinds, organised and approved the use of the plane that went to pick him up.
DCP Suzette Martin, who was on the plane, claimed that Thomas had “evaded surveillance but had agreed to return voluntarily” and the Barbados Police were fed this fabrication. The evidence has been uncovered, Thomas wants to testify, the Bajans have confessed their guilt and will testify, but the case has been lying dormant for years now.
You think that if Kamla was serious about doing something about crime (and exposing the PNM’s corrupt behaviour simultaneously) she would not have had it fast-tracked? These are indisputable facts involving only one case.
There are many more, but BOTH SIDES are guilty of malevolence and so……stalemate – better just do nothing. Party, Parade & Pretend.
