Dear Editor
Stuart Young should walk into a madhouse and admit himself. His latest outburst on Venezuela and energy matters is not only reckless but completely divorced from reality.
He twists facts to attack Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar and our UNC government while failing to acknowledge the serious work being done to protect the interests of Trinidad and Tobago.
The issuance of U.S. OFAC General License No. 50 gives a legal framework for energy negotiations involving BP, Shell, and Venezuela. Instead of understanding this, Stuart Young rants as if the government is absent or incompetent.
The truth is that our government is fully engaged, ensuring that Trinidad and Tobago benefits from these developments while complying with U.S. and international law.

The US Treasury Department Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced the issuance of two general licences that allow Shell and BP to proceed with near-border and cross-border development the Dragon and Cocuina gas fields
Mr. Young’s attempt to cast doubt on Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar’s leadership is baseless.
Under her guidance, the UNC government has acted decisively to secure Trinidad and Tobago’s energy future, strengthen regional cooperation, and maintain transparency.
While Stuart Young flails with his unfounded attacks, the Prime Minister continues to lead with competence and vision, protecting the interests of every citizen. It is high time he stops grandstanding and faces the reality that leadership requires action, not rants.
