Dear Editor,
Maybe it was a senior moment, (among many of late), but to hear the Prime Minister suggest that a Commission of Enquiry (CoE) into the Brent Thomas kidnapping/scurrilous lie/CARICOM cool with commess is really going overboard.
Just for the record, God bless the integrity of the Honorable Court that delivered a decision in favor of Mr. Thomas and the law will take its course, so respectfully there really is no point in dead horse whipping CARICOM for it, when there are other things Guyana where they went “Rum and Coca Cola” island politics on.
We have had the CoE experience as recent as the worst industrial accident in the history of Trinidad and Tobago under the Sturat Young administration as well as Las Alturas, Construction Sector for a few barrows of missing gravel in Tobago and all sorts of assorted madness which have prompted CoEs for political expediency, millions in fees, wasted package of paper and ink (please save the trees) and nothing more.
So as we are here, can we also have a CoE into the Chutney Soca Monarch? Lets make sure that the enamel bowl contestant was bowled into second place and the picka picked her correct t(h)ree this time.
Stay up Trinidad and Tobago.
Linda Capildeo,
St James
