Cabinet must stop treating traffic congestion as a minor inconvenience and recognize it as a growing economic and social crisis.
Trinidad and Tobago abandoned its railway network in favour of roads and private vehicles, and today we are paying the price with gridlock, lost productivity, higher transport costs, fuel waste, and daily frustration for citizens.
The time for studies and talk has passed. Government must urgently develop a modern mass transit strategy, including rail and dedicated public transport corridors, before the nation’s roads descend into even greater chaos and become a major deterrent to investment and economic growth.
