Citizens trying to earn an honest living

Cabinet must be careful not to regulate small entrepreneurs out of existence. The vinegar maker, copra producer, doubles vendor, taxi driver, and roadside food seller are not the nation’s biggest tax problem, they are citizens trying to earn an honest living in a difficult economy.

If registration is the goal, then simplify the process, reduce fees, and provide incentives. Punitive fines without meaningful support risk shrinking the very small business sector that keeps many families afloat and communities economically active.
