Cabinet must stop treating rising anger, violence, and social disorder as isolated incidents. Since COVID, many citizens, especially young people, have faced social isolation, economic hardship, constant exposure to social media, and excessive screen time that are reshaping behaviour and weakening social bonds.
The nation cannot police its way out of a social crisis. Government must invest in stronger families, community programmes, mental health services, youth development, sports, skills training, and digital literacy before frustration, division, and hopelessness become even more deeply rooted.
A society under pressure eventually reflects that pressure in its streets, schools, workplaces, and homes.
