The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Jagdeo Singh, recently participated in Tynwald Day 2026 in the Isle of Man.
Tynwald Day is the vibrant National Day of the Isle of Man, celebrated annually on July 5th.
What makes it truly legendary is its history: it marks the annual outdoor gathering of Tynwald, the island’s parliament, which was founded by the Vikings over 1,000 years ago. This makes it the oldest continuous parliament in the entire world!
Speaker has been on an official visit to the United Kingdom. He also met with the British Speaker, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, at the Houses of Parliament, London.
