Five guns and 31 rounds of ammunition were seized and four persons arrested for firearm-related offences during separate Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. Shield exercises conducted between Saturday and Sunday.In the North Central Division, officers acting on intelligence searched a residence at La Pastora Village, Lopinot Road, Arouca, where they seized three shotguns and 10 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition.
Two persons were arrested.In the Central Division, officers searched a residence at Edinburgh Village, Chaguanas, where they seized one firearm and two rounds of .38 ammunition. A 45-year-old man was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition.Meanwhile, in the Port of Spain Division, officers conducting an operation in the Besson Street, Belmont and Central Police Station Districts seized one firearm, two magazines and 19 rounds of .45 ammunition. One man was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Investigations are continuing.
