The Coast Guard seized more than $25 million in marijuana in the Gulf of Paria on Monday morning.
During a routine patrol, the Coast Guard came upon a vessel with three persons, later identified as Venezuelans. When the vessel was search, the Coast Guard found 411 packages.
The packages and the men were taken to Coast Guard Headquarters at Staubles Bay. The packages and the Venezuelans were handed over to the Police for action.
The police confirmed the packages contained 231 kilos of marijuana and the value was put at $25,456,200.
The three Venezuelans are expected to be charged shortly.
