It is not a reshuffle but re-assignment of portfolios for some Ministers.
The change was made in the Trinidad and Tobago Gazette dated October 2.
Among the changes is the reassignment of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) which now falls under the Ministry of Defence. It was previously under the Ministry of Homeland Security.
This falls within the ambit of the agencies under the Ministry of Defence such as the Regiment and Coast Guard who usually respond to disasters such as flooding.
The Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, Vandana Mohit, gets the National Commission for Self-Help which was previously under the Office of the Prime Minister.
Changes were made to the portfolios of 12 Ministers and the Prime Minister.
