Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs, Sean Sobers, touched down at the Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas on Thursday morning.
The purpose of the meeting is the hold bilateral talks with his counterpart, on several topics. Sobers was accompanied by Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary and Head of the Foreign Service, and acting Foreign Service Officer III and head of the Americas Division, Claire de Bourg.
Upon arrival at the Caracas Airport, the Trinidad and Tobago delegation was warmly greeted by officials from the Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago in Caracas and by senior representatives of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Both Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela agreed to hold bilateral discussions during the working visit in the following areas:
• enhanced trade and economic co-operation
• cooperation in agriculture and fisheries
• national security—MaÂritime and border security, ImmiÂgration
• energy security and prosÂpeÂrity for Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago.
The working visit followed ongoing high-level discussions between both governments.
This country’s meeting with Venezuelan officials comes on the heels of a delegation of US officials meeting with acting President Delcy Rodriguez in Caracas on Wednesday to formalize new agreements on energy, mining, and commercial cooperation.
