A 63-year-old businessman who survived being shot at his business compound just over a year ago, was shot dead on Friday afternoon at the same location.
Rasif Mohammed, owner of Fowl Play poultry shop, was shot dead around 1.30 pm in the Aripero area of San Fernando.
The latest attack comes after Mohammed was targeted at the same business compound on August 29, 2025. He survived that shooting.
According to reports, Mohammed was travelling in the area with his son-in-law, aged 24, when a gunman approached and opened fire.
Several shots were fired, leaving Mohammed and the other man injured.
The men were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where Mohammed was later pronounced dead.
Another account of Friday’s incident stated that Mohammed had driven into his business compound in a silver Nissan Y12 wagon accompanied by his son-in-law, identified as Jimmy Ballack, when gunmen opened fire.
Ballack was also shot and taken to hospital for treatment.
Investigations are continuing into this developing story.
