A man who reportedly went to fix an air-conditioning unit by the home of a boyhood friend, went missing on April 11. He never returned home and his mother became worried. Even the friend could not say where he went after leaving his home.
But the body of Frederick Aaron Stevenson was found three days later in a forested area of Las Lomas.
An autopsy performed on Friday confirmed that Stevenson died from blunt force trauma to the head, with investigators claiming he was killed with a sledgehammer before his body was dumped in the forested area off Esmeralda Road, Las Lomas.
Stevenson, of Las Lomas, was reported missing on Saturday, April 11, after he disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Police later confirmed the residence of Stevenson’s friend was identified as the crime scene.
According to investigators, Stevenson was allegedly lured to the home under the pretext of carrying out repairs on an air conditioning unit. It is at that location, police believe, that he was attacked and fatally struck with a sledgehammer.
The friend, who is now wanted by police, remains on the run.
On Wednesday, the search for Stevenson ended when his body was discovered in a remote forested area off Esmeralda Road, Las Lomas. The recovery was made during a search involving the Hunters Search and Rescue Team leader Vallence Rambharat.
Police suspect that Stevenson’s body was taken from the residence after the killing in a red vehicle and dumped in the isolated location in an attempt to conceal the crime.
While the search is on for the real suspect, police have detained two men for their alleged role in carrying out the crime. One of them is “singing like a bird”. There are eyewitnesses who saw the “friend” and two others moving away with a bag, believed to be the body of Stevenson – the same day he disappeared.
