Three men have appeared in court for two different murders.
In one case, businessman Azard Pooran was the victim, while in the other was Clarence Thompson, one of four persons killed in separate incidents in Morvant in September.
Two men appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of Pooran, which occurred on March 2.
Renaldo Thomas, 39, and Bradley Taitt, 26, both of Arima, were also charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when they appeared before Master Raydon Dalrymple-Watts, at the High Court, Criminal Division.
The Sufficiency Hearing is set for April 6, 2027.
Pooran, 69, of Santa Rosa Heights, Arima was gunned down outside his home on Plumrose Avenue, Santa Rosa, in an attack that has stunned the eastern borough.
Pooran, owner of Shock’n Stock Booksellers & Stationers, was at his residence when gunmen struck shortly before nightfall. Initial reports indicate he was shot in the driveway of his home. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Two suspects were arrested at their homes on September 15 and 17 by officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations. They were charged on September 22 by PC Jaghoo, also of Homicide Bureau, following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Anju Bhola, on that same date.
MORVANT MURDER
A Morvant man appeared before a Master of the High Court charged with the murder of Clarence Thompson, which occurred on September 8.
Jonathan Dillion Gould, aka ‘Woody’, 34, of Chinapoo Village, Morvant, was also charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Master Indira Chinebas, at the High Court ‘E’.
The Status Hearing has been set for November 16.
Thompson, 57, also of Chinapoo, Morvant, was shot and killed on September 8 near his home.
One suspect was arrested at his home on September 20, by officers of the Homicide Bureau. Gould was charged on September 22 by PC James following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Anju Bhola, on that same date.
