In a matter of a four days, six murders have taken place, bringing the toll to 250.
The latest victim was Tylan Hinkson, 22, of Redwood Street, Morvant.
According to reports, Hinkson was shot early on Tuesday morning at Second Caledonia, Morvant.
Residents reported hearing gunshots and called the police. Police responded to the scene and found Hinkson lying on the roadway. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including severe injuries to his face, hands and legs.
Hinkson was pronounced dead at the scene by a District Medical Officer. No one has been arrested and although no motive has been established, Homicide Bureau officers believe it was gang-related. Investigations are continuing.
The other recent murders:
* A man who was last seen alive on Saturday, was discovered dead on Monday morning under suitcases.
The body of Chunilal Bandoo, 75, was found concealed beneath several suitcases inside a house at Mc Inroy Street, Curepe.
* A 26-year-old car salesman was fatally stabbed during a late-night confrontation in Malabar in the early hours of Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Delano Bedeshi, also known as “Lano,” of Arjoon Avenue, Malabar.
* The search for 57-year-old Nelvin Ali of Piparo ended tragically on Sunday after his body was discovered in the Dindial Settlement area.
Ali was reported missing after he was last seen around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 3.
* Around 11.30 pm on Friday, a Venezuelan man was shot dead at the corner of Orange Field Road and Perseverance Road, Chase Village. No one was arrested and no motive established.
* Romel Ash, 27, of Girez Lane, El Socorro, was shot and killed outside Republic Bank, Woodbook, around 12.15 am on Sunday. Justin Mc Quirk, 28, was shot and wounded and is warded at hospital.
