The hunt is on for a Venezuelan who killed a farmer at Manohar Trace, Barrackpore, on Tuesday.
The dead farmer was identified as Richard Mohammed, aged 38. According to police reports, Mohammed was in his land in Barrackpore when he was approached by the Venezuelan who was riding a bicycle.
The Venezuelan pulled out a gun and fired at Mohammed, hitting him in the head before riding off. Persons who were in the land, rushed Mohammed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Acting Supt Lystra Bridgelal led a team of officers from the South Division to the scene and the search is on for the suspect. The murder toll stands at 102.
