An Arima man, already facing murder and firearm-related charges, has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with another murder and the attempted murder of a woman.
Renalds Thomas, 39, of Sherwood Park, Arima, was charged with the murder of Bhymal Madhoo, attempted murder, Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Master Lisa Singh-Phillip, at the High Court, Criminal Division.
The Sufficiency Hearing is set for April 6th, 2027.
Madhoo, aka ‘Bobby’, 35, a gardener/construction worker, of Sangre Grande, was in the company of a woman, when he was shot and killed on Friday 11th September, in the Arima district.
One suspect was arrested on September 15 at his home by officers of the Homicide Bureau in connection with the matter.
Thomas was charged on September 22, by PC Matthews, also of Homicide Bureau following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Anju Bhola, on that same date.
A routine business appointment turned into a deadly trap on Friday, September 11, Madhoo was shot dead inside his vehicle in Malabar.
Madhoo, of Boi Bande Village, Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande, was the owner of Madhoo Interiors.
Madhoo was reportedly lured to the area under the pretext of conducting a site visit.
However, instead of carrying out the business assignment, he was targeted in what investigators suspect may have been a planned killing.
The shooting occurred at Eugene Laurent Drive, off Holly Betaudier Avenue, Malabar.
Madhoo was inside his vehicle when he was shot. The circumstances surrounding the attack have raised suspicions that he may have been deliberately drawn to the location by someone who knew his movements and business activities.
