Can I Play with Madness?

Dear Sir/Madam

I refer to the aforementioned title, which is a legendary hit from the legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden, which deals with, in wizardly terms,  just going mad.

This was my immediate reaction upon hearing of the San Fernando Municipal heist involving  murder and arms theft, right there under the noses of the police.   I was just amazed at the logistics : that someone  could beat a WPC to death and steal as many firearms..as they would have needed  a team and a vehicle much bigger  than the Hilux jitney.   Then I read the details printed in the media as well as those on social media and immediately I scheduled a consultation with my psychiatrist.

We cannot sit quietly and say, well an investigation is ongoing and we have recovered so many firearms and we should go back to bed, at 1.30 in the am.   The Prime Minister should also be ashamed of herself for settling for such a silly stupid advisory of an internal betrayal,  and moving on to celebrations  and so she gets a bouff for her 74th birthday.

There is a senior superintendent who was supposed to be in charge and was obliged to take corrective actions where staff are suspected in various things and ensure adequate security measures in place.

He seemed to have been more occupied with taking selfies and joining in the  grinning. You can’t go in  a station to make a report but you can rob and kill and thats policing for you.  Watch out Sir, remember Erla?

For the benefit of the public relations personnel on the TV6 show, Messrs Owie and Ali: this heist devastates the Police Service.  It guts the Service of integrity and valor.  It is lurid and obscene and confirms the public’s suspicions that the criminal gang network in every sphere has the support of the TTPS, no matter how many good ones there are.  They are beyond shame to appear on screen.  We have just identified the root of the problem and its not us.

Can I play with madness? The Prophet looked and laughed at me?

Oh no prophet, this is not a laughing or grinning matter.

Linda Capildeo,

St James
