I was appalled to see a picture of four teenage children, in school uniform, sitting in the roadway playing “chicken” with oncoming traffic.
Apparently, this is the latest social media craze in which our young children try to “out” themselves from this world.
This is so serious that it must take the co-ordinated efforts of all relevant bodies including the Ministry of Education, the National Parent Teachers Association, the Inter-Religious Organisation, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and the Media, to stop a massive tragedy-in-waiting.
We must not wait until the first child is killed, to deal with this issue.
