The St.James Radiation & Cancer Centre

The situation at the St. James Radiation and Cancer Centre is deeply troubling. While the nurses and staff do their best and are often compassionate and professional, the system itself appears broken, and many have simply learned to survive within the dysfunction. Sadly, it is the patients who suffer most.

Particular concern must be raised about the Social Services support system for cancer patients needing radiation treatment.

There appears to be a serious disconnect between the Ministry and patient support services, resulting in delays, confusion and inadequate assistance at a time when patients are most vulnerable.

Cancer does not wait on bureaucracy. The patient suffers.
