Oh well! The Trinidad and Tobago Men’s Senior Football team has been relegated to League B of the Concacaf Nations League.
The Soca Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw by Curaçao at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo on Sunday.
It was the third time in four matches that Trinidad and Tobago took the lead and could not win.
On Sunday, the local team went ahead in the 39th minute courtesy of Luke Phillips. Curaçao’s Jordi Paulina levelled the scores. The local goalkeeper Denzil Smith pulled off an amazing save in the dying minutes to deny Curacao a win.
Trinidad and Tobago finished their four matches schedule with three losses and a draw, earning just one point.
Against Haiti in Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago were leading 2-1 only to lose 2-3. Then against the Dominican Republic, the local team was leading 1-0 only to lose 1-2. Against Curacao in Curacao, Trinidad and Tobago lost 0-1.
That means Trinidad and Tobago has been relegated to League B of the Concacaf Nations League.
