Dear Editor, No amount of PNM political propaganda, manufactured outrage, sensational headlines, questionable fake reporting documents or politically motivated PNM propaganda media narratives can change what the people of Trinidad and Tobago are seeing with their own eyes.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is standing firm.
She is standing firm in the face of the enormous challenges inherited by the UNC Government after ten years of PNM administration. She is standing firm against corruption, against waste, against poor governance and against the culture of political entitlement that too often allowed problems to remain unresolved.
And most importantly, she is getting on with the job.
The people did not elect a government to spend five years making excuses. They elected a government to govern, to fix problems and to restore confidence in the institutions of this country and that is exactly what is happening.
That is exactly what Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and the UNC Government continue doing .
fixing all of the mess left behind by the PNM administration and getting the country back on its feet.
There will always be those who will try to create confusion. There will always be PNM political commentators who present opinion as fact. There will always be attempts to drown out the Government’s record with another misleading headline, another allegation or another political distraction.
But propaganda does not build roads.
Propaganda does not put water into people’s homes.
Propaganda does not improve public services.
Propaganda does not make communities safer.
Propaganda does not create jobs, strengthen institutions or put Trinidad and Tobago on a stronger economic footing.
Governance does.
Leadership does.
Action does.
The Prime Minister has a responsibility to every citizen of this country, regardless of political affiliation, race, religion, class or community. That responsibility is not to the loudest voices on social media or the political class. It is to the people.
And that is why the Government remains focused.
Let the Opposition criticize but they must answer the question who funded  the rebuilding of the Balisier House, who?.
The people must also be vigilant. They must question narratives that are presented without evidence, examine documents for themselves and refuse to allow partisan politics to replace facts.
Trinidad and Tobago has endured enough political division. Our people want results. They want safety. They want reliable public services. They want economic opportunity. They want their children to have a future. They want a government that understands that governing this country is a responsibility, not a privilege.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has been given that responsibility.
She must continue to stand strong.
She must continue cleaning up the problems confronting the country.
She must continue demanding accountability.
And she must continue putting the people of Trinidad and Tobago first.
The political noise will come and go. Headlines will come and go. Opposition attacks will come and go.
But the work of rebuilding Trinidad and Tobago must continue.
