Police claimed that Anderson pointed a firearm at the officers and that a soldier fired one round from his rifle, striking Anderson in the head. The report said the gun fell from Anderson’s hand.
Anderson was taken to the Point Fortin District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5.06 p.m.
Anderson’s mother said she was told that the “police “buss” through the back door, drag him by his hair, slap him up, drag him inside. My sister-in-law said they drag him up the steps and she hear one shot and a few ring off after. They shoot him in the bathroom and then they drag him down the step through the living room, out the drawing room. They execute him, they coulda lock him up.”
She continued, “He is a youth man, he got caught up with wrong people. He get lock up, he get charged.”
Police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem. They are also trying to trace the weapon seized.
