CoP Guevarro fires 17 police officers

Commissioner of Police, Allister Guevarro, has revoked the appointment of 17 police officers with immediate effect.

On Thursday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service advised the public that the appointments of the following police officers were revoked by the Commissioner of Police:

• Tamara Boyce

• Vijay Singh

• Elliot Chin

• Joanne Jadoo

• Owen Hem-Lee

• Jilann Holder

• Kizzy Thomas

• Karlon Murray

• Christopher Gobin

• Michael Alcala

• Carlos Thorne

• Devon Basant

• Akiel Smith-

• Desron Dillon

• Shaun Reid

• Joff Awong

• Daryl Baksh

This notice was issued for public information and record in accordance with the administrative directions of the Commissioner of Police.

Four of the persons were charged with the following offences:

* Misbehaviour in Public Office.

* Conspiracy to defraud in June 2025. That officers allegedly accepted cash from citizens as down payments for Housing Development Corporation (HDC) homes but failed to provide the houses or return the money. 

* Charged with kidnapping

* One pleaded pleaded guilty in Jamaica in 2019 to possession of cocaine and was fined $16,000.
