The law books were put away on Friday as Divali lights were lit bright at the Chambers of Israel Khan SC.
It was the annual staging of Divali at Khan’s Chambers on Abercromby Street, Port-of-Spain. Hosted together with his son Daniel, Khan said he was delighted to light deyas with his staff and law students, who visit his Chambers every Friday.
Entertainment was provided by well-known dancer, Susan Mohipp, most commonly known as Baby Susan.
He remembered the late Dana Seetahal SC when he spoke briefly.
Seetahal was shot dead on May 4, 2014 on Hamilton Holder Street, Woodbrook, after leaving a club in the same area.
A group of men were arrested and charged months later, but to date the trial is pending in the High Court.
Khan has been a lawyer for the past 47 years.
