A member of the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation’s Municipal Police Unit died following a head-on collision in Cunaripo on Tuesday night.
The officer was identified as Nisha Persad, whose death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from the Corporation, where she served as a municipal police officer.
In a statement following her passing, the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation said its Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Councillors and staff were deeply saddened by the loss of their colleague.
The Corporation described Persad as a dedicated officer whose contributions and service would not be forgotten.
It said her death was a significant loss not only to her family and friends but also to her colleagues and the wider Corporation family.
The organisation extended condolences to her loved ones and those who worked alongside her, while asking that they find comfort in the memories they shared with her.
Persad died following the head-on collision on Tuesday night.
