Murder Accused goes missing

…….Police searching for man out on bail

By FRANCIS JOSEPH

Peter Isaac was originally charged with wounding his brother Matthew Isaac. Then the charge was upgraded to murder after Matthew died.

After spending months in the remand yard of the State Prison, Peter was able to access bail and was released.

With the case pending, Peter, 19, has gone missing. An official missing person’s report was made to the Chaguanas Police Station on Tuesday.

Although the missing person’s report was made on Tuesday, he was last seen around 3 pm on Friday. So what are his relatives saying? They believe he may be suffering from mental health issues.

Relatives have been searching high and low for Peter. They even brought in the Hunters and Rescue team to assist in the search. But one relative is not ruling out foul play in this matter. “We are not ruling out anything,” one relative told Sunshine Today.

Peter was charged with the murder of his older brother on June 18, 2025, after a violent altercation at their Perseverance Road, Carapichaima home on April 19, 2025.

Investigators alleged that during an argument on Matthew’s 20th birthday, Peter threw a piece of steel which struck his brother in the head. Their father rushed Matthew to the Chaguanas Accident and Emergency Hospital. He was later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mount Hope, where he remained in a critical condition until April 24 when he died.

Matthew collapsed and was taken to hospital. He died some time later from severe head injuries.
