A soldier has been charged with Home Invasion following an incident at Samuel Cooper Trace, Fifth Company Village, Moruga, on August 21.
At approximately 1:30 am, two men forced their way into a residence, assaulted and restrained several occupants, and demanded drugs and firearms. The suspects reportedly stole four mobile phones before escaping in a blue Mazda 323 vehicle.
Police officers visited the scene, interviewed the occupants and canvassed the area for CCTV footage. Following inquiries and the receipt of legal advice, Rayshaun Ferrier, 22, of Princes Town, was formally charged with the offence.
The investigation was conducted under the guidance of W/Supt Lystra Bridglal, ASP Chulhan and Insp Charles, and supervised by Ag Sgt Harripersad and Cpl Johnson.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
