7 killed in the last 18 hours

What a last 18 hours it has been in Trinidad. Seven persons were killed. Three in Ste Madeline, two in Penal, one in Fyzabad, and one in Morvant. Not forgetting others killed over the weekend.

Around 1 am on Monday, a man was walking his dogs alone a track at 6th Street,  Ste Madeline, when he heard about gunshots. When he checked,  he found Clairey Kingfi, Martin Harripersad, 43, and a man identified as Joe, suffering from gunshot wounds in a house and in the yard of the property.

The three died on the spot. The shooters escaped. Police have no motive yet. 

On Sunday night, two persons were shot dead at SS Erin Road, Penal not far from the Police Station. No one has been held and the motive remains unclear. A third person was wounded.

Micah Joseph

On Sunday night, Micah Joseph was stabbed to death during a domestic-related incident in Fyzabad. Joseph lived at John Jules Street, Fyzabad.

On Monday morning, police launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered along a roadway in Morvant.

The discovery was made at Sohan Trace, off First Caledonia Road, where a man was found lying at the side of the roadway.

Details surrounding the killing remain limited at this time. However, polive believe the man may have been transported to the area and dumped from a vehicle before being discovered.

Investigators are working to establish the victim’s identity and determine the circumstances that led to his death.

Officers are expected to review evidence from the scene and review CCTV footage.

The murder toll stands at 159.
